on november 11, sepcoiii’s consortium and pt pertamina geothermal energy signed epc contract of indonesia lumut balai unit 2 geothermal fcrs and power plant project on b20 summit held in bali
indonesian maritime and investment coordinating minister and investment minister attended and witnessed the signing. the owner, relevant personnel of sepcoiii and other members of the consortium attended the signing ceremony.
indonesia has the world’s largest geothermal energy reserve of about 27 billion watts, accounting for 40% of the global total. however, currently the utilization is less than 5% of the geothermal energy, about 1191mw, and is the world’s third largest producer of geothermal energy after the united states and the philippines.indonesia is short of electricity, and the full exploitation and utilization of geothermal resources can greatly reduce the dependence on hydropower and thermal power generation. this contract will provide valuable experience for the development of geothermal and other renewable energy projects.
