on november 14, with the last impeller of the wind turbine docked precisely with the generator, the 8.5mw jinfeng prototype at no.6 of the liutuan three gorges wind farm project in changyi, shandong province, was successfully lifted into position. this is currently the first 8.5mw wind turbine on land in china, and sets a record for the largest single turbine capacity on land in the world. the successful completion of the hoisting of the unit marked the successful achievement of another important milestone in the project, taking it one step closer to the goal of grid-connected power generation.
the lifting for a jinfeng 8.5mw wind turbine, hub center height 135m, 5-section tower, blade lifting using air docking, blade transport vehicle length 80m, blade fixture self-weight 65 tons. it is particularly worth mentioning that the xcmg xca2600t crane used for the main crane and the 65-ton blade jig provided by cooper were used for the first time in china, which is of great significance to the machinery manufacturer and also put forward higher standards and stricter requirements for our lifting programmed.
the project department attached great importance to the hoisting, organized it carefully and arranged it meticulously. before the hoisting started, it optimized the construction plan many times, provided technical training and safety briefing to all the hoisting personnel, arranged the technical person in charge and full-time safety personnel to supervise and guide the whole process, and made full use of the short but valuable construction window according to the weather changes to ensure the safe and efficient completion of the hoisting work.
the successful completion of the lifting of the 8.5mw unit has served as a demonstration for the installation of large-capacity onshore wind turbines in china and has accumulated valuable construction experience. the "successful first hoisting of the first unit" is not only a test to prove our construction strength, but also the result of the collaboration and joint efforts of all participating units. in the next step, the project department will not let up, make further efforts, continue to uphold the development concept of "win-win cooperation", carry forward the work style of "initiative, responsibility and persistence", and make unremitting efforts towards the set goal.
