on the morning of june 9th, mr. kgosientso ramokkopa, the minister of electricity of south africa, and his delegation visited sepcoiii red stone project for inspection and guidance. the owner’s ceo, mr. nandu, and our project manager, li quanxiang, accompanied the inspection.
accompanied by all parties, mr. minister and his delegation inspected key construction areas such as the main transformer, molten salt tank, light tower, mirror yard, and mirror assembly workshop to gain a detailed understanding of the overall construction situation on site. project manager li quanxiang gave a detailed introduction to the current progress, achievements, and social benefits of the project, and stated that with the strong support of the owner, the project is progressing solidly and in an orderly manner. during the inspection process, mr. minister had a friendly exchange with chinese personnel, expressing appreciation for the high-quality construction technology demonstrated by the project department, and expressing gratitude for the hard work and dedication of the project department.
sepcoiii redstone photothermal power plant project is the first epc project undertaken by our company in south africa, and also the first tower type photothermal molten salt unit in south africa. this project has significant milestone significance for the development of chinese enterprises and our company in the south african electricity market. after the project is put into operation, 785.8gwh of electricity will be transmitted annually to the south african power grid, providing a continuous source of clean electricity for approximately 200000 households, which will effectively promote trade, investment, and local economic development in south africa.
