on the morning of august 29th local time, wang qimin, consul general of the chinese consulate general in jeddah, and ma wei, business counselor, led a delegation to inspect and guide the saudi yanbu phase iii project contracted by sepcoiii.
consul general wang qimin visited the project site and listened to reports from the project department on project progress, personnel situation, safety situation, and comprehensive management. he affirmed the achievements made in various aspects of the project and praised the high construction standards and automation level of the project site.
he stated that with xi jinping visit to saudi in 2022, china and saudi have close cooperation in various fields. he hopes that sepcoiii, which has a good brand image, can seize opportunities and deeply cultivate saudi, while strengthening cooperation with domestic enterprises to drive more chinese equipment and chinese manufacturing to enter saudi, making new contributions to domestic economic construction and development, the consulate will continue to support the legitimate rights and interests of sepcoiii and other chinese enterprises in saudi, provide policy guidance, and assist in development and growth.
saudi yanbu phase iii 5 × the 660mw oil fired power plant project is currently the largest oil fired power plant project built globally, covering an area of 3.15 square kilometers, including the construction of a new 5 × the 660mw oil fired power plant and supporting desalination plant can meet the power demand of 10% of saudi's population. it is an important livelihood project and political project in saudi, and also an important achievement project of the "the belt and road" initiative and saudi's "vision 2030", which has received high attention from the saudi government and all sectors of society.
